A CLEARER STARTING POINT

Know the card.
Understand the context.

PreGrade is VeriGrail’s developing toolkit for card identification, market research and condition education. Begin with the player or character, set, card number and variation. A small difference in those details can make a big difference in the comparison.

Value depends on demand, rarity, authenticity and condition. Asking prices show a seller’s expectations; completed sales show what buyers paid. Compare raw cards with raw cards, and graded cards with the same grader and grade.

Today’s browser tools help you organize those details and open focused research searches. Automated identification, market estimates and photographic inspection are not yet available.

YOUR RESEARCH DESK

Explore PreGrade Online

Enter the details printed on your card. We’ll organize your identity and prepare searches you can review yourself.

01 / Identify your card

Name and at least one of year, set or card number are required. This is manual entry, not a verified catalog match.

02 / RESEARCH

Start with the exact card.

Your entered identity will appear here.

Insufficient verified market data to estimate this card's value.

No catalog or market-data service is connected. No matching records or sales have been retrieved.

External searches open in a new tab and send your search terms to that provider. Results are not verified by PreGrade. Review actual sale details, currency, date, shipping, condition and accepted-offer information before comparing prices.

Your temporary collection

Stored only in this page’s memory. Refreshing or leaving clears it. Export before you go. No cloud sync or browser storage is used by this tool.

No cards added yet.

    FOUR STEPS. BETTER CONTEXT.

    A more informed next move.

    01

    Identify your card

Capture the release details that distinguish your card from similar examples.

    02

    Research market activity

Open external searches and review completed transactions. Automated comparable sales are planned.

    03

    Understand condition

Learn what to inspect before comparing or submitting a card.

    04

    Decide with context

Use evidence to help organize, preserve or sell. An estimate is never a guaranteed outcome.

    LOOK CLOSER

    Condition changes
    the conversation.

Two cards from the same release can have very different values. Open each inspection guide to learn what to look for.

Educational guidance only. No photos are uploaded, no inspection is performed and no grades are issued.

    01 / Centering

How evenly the printed design is positioned. Compare opposing borders on the front and back; some designs are intentionally asymmetric. Perspective and cropping can distort a photo.

    02 / Corners

Look at all four corners for rounding, fraying, bends and compression. Front and back views can reveal different wear. Handle the card gently by its edges.

    03 / Edges

Inspect for whitening, chips, rough cuts and dents. Distinguish manufacturing characteristics from later damage; lighting can conceal or exaggerate both.

    04 / Surface

Check for scratches, print lines, stains, dents and creases. Change the viewing angle carefully. A single photograph cannot reveal every surface defect or establish authenticity.

    NATIVE APP / DEVELOPMENT PREVIEW

    Evidence first.
    More insight ahead.

The private Android beta explores front/back evidence and reports organized around centering, corners, edges and surface, using synthetic demonstration images. It is a separate experience from the browser research tools.

Public photo capture and uploads are unavailable. Validated condition scoring and an iOS release remain development goals. We’ll add store links here when public releases are available.

    THE ROAD AHEAD

    Building toward deeper insight.

    TOOLS AVAILABLE · DATA PLANNED

    01 / Research & valuation

Manual card profiles, external research and temporary collections are available in this browser tool. Authorized market data and automated estimates are planned.

    PRIVATE SYNTHETIC PROTOTYPE

    02 / Condition analysis

Photographic inspection, evidence reports and reliability testing. Public real-photo analysis awaits privacy and validation work.

    DEVELOPMENT GOAL

    03 / Advanced PreGrade

Validated condition scoring, richer valuation context and expanded collection tools. No release date or grading accuracy is promised.

    GOOD QUESTIONS

    Before you explore.

    What is VeriGrail PreGrade?

A developing collector toolkit combining card research, market context and condition education. The browser tools currently organize manually entered details and prepare external searches.

Can PreGrade tell me what my card is worth?

Automated estimates are not currently available. Use the research links to investigate comparable sales yourself. PreGrade does not retrieve or verify those search results.

How is a card’s market value determined?

Useful estimates consider recent comparable transactions, exact identity, variation, condition and demand. Asking prices alone are not evidence of a completed sale.

What if my card has no recent comparable sales?

There may be insufficient evidence for a reliable estimate. Broaden your research carefully and document any differences. Scarcity alone does not establish a price.

    Does PreGrade professionally grade cards?

No. PreGrade does not certify authenticity or issue professional grades. Future condition tools will require validation and will not guarantee a third-party grading result.

Can I use PreGrade without downloading the app?

Yes. The research desk on this page works in a browser with JavaScript enabled. The educational sections do not require an app.

Is PreGrade available for iPhone and Android?

There is no public store download linked yet. An Android private beta exists; an iOS release is planned. The availability panels above will provide verified public links when ready.

Can PreGrade identify Pokémon and sports cards?

You can manually enter either category and prepare research searches. Automated image recognition and verified catalog matching are not currently available.

    Do I need an account?

No account is needed for the browser research tools or temporary collection.

    How is my information handled?

The research desk keeps entries in page memory and does not submit them to PreGrade. Refreshing or leaving clears them. Exports save to your device. Clicking an external search sends the query to that provider. The website’s existing privacy policy applies to general site activity.

    Is the valuation guaranteed?

No. Market estimates, when available, will be informational. Timing, fees, demand and condition affect sale outcomes. This release provides no automated valuation.

    What additional features are planned?

Authorized market data, improved identification, photographic inspection, validated condition scoring and richer collection features. Availability depends on reliability, privacy and distribution requirements.
